ERM is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and talented Senior Consultant with strong project management and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA, ESIA, AIA, or VIA) and due diligence.
Previous experience of delivering biodiversity, critical habitat assessment or marine ecology related services will be an advantage.
Our office is in Milan, just a short walk from Stazione Centrale, and we offer flexible working arrangements.
Interested candidates will bring experience in permitting support to Capital projects especially in the Energy and Infrastructure sector, ideally, although not exclusively, offshore.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
You will join our growing and successful Capital Project Delivery team supporting our clients to achieve their strategic goals and growth objectives at every stage of a capital project.
As part of the team, you will work on a wide range of projects with a focus on environmental impact assessments in marine and coastal environments.
You will support the delivery of large-scale capital development projects, including for oil and gas (with a growing portfolio of decommissioning-related work), renewables and infrastructure sector clients.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake assessments to evaluate and mitigate potential impacts on the marine and land environment from capital development projects.
Develop strong relationships and communicate clearly with peers, colleagues, clients and sub-contractors within and outside the Southern Europe Business Unit.
Deliver high-quality reporting to meet the needs of our clients and regulatory requirements.
Manage a number of projects and proposals both from the project management and the technical point of view.
Assist in identifying, securing and managing new opportunities.
Support the development of our talented junior biodiversity consultants through coaching and mentoring.
About you
A background in environmental consultancy, environmental regulation or industry.
Demonstrable project management experience is essential.
Ideal technical competence in undertaking marine assessments to support environmental approvals.
Strong interest in marine and coastal ecosystems, potential threats, and strategies for protection and conservation of marine habitats and/or critical habitats.
No Net Loss or Biodiversity Net Gain and ecosystem services principles.
Excellent language skills (English and Italian mandatory).
Excellent report writing, data collation and management/presentation skills.
Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas.
Geographic Information System experience will be evaluated as a plus.
