Gold Standard seeks a Digital Product Manager to lead the development of GSIQ, a new digital platform that will be designed to transform Gold Standard products, processes, and governance such that:
Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in Digital Product Management. They must have a strong understanding of back-end and front-end programming languages, and the ability to effectively manage digital projects across diverse teams and with external vendors. The role requires a candidate with excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Reporting to the CTO, the role will have a direct report (Data Scientist), and will be supported by a dedicated GSIQ Secretariat and external expert Advisors.
Objectives of this Role
Work with GSIQ Secretariat to implement GSIQ strategy and long-term vision;
Manage select developers and contractors to build a best-in-class digital product;
Oversee designers, developers and research teams from end to end of the GSIQ development process, and convert learnings into GSIQ features and functionalities;
Partner with product owners and development contractors to build specific product roadmaps to be incorporated into GSIQ. Ensure timely, agile development;
Partner with product owners and development contractors to implement data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data onto GSIQ;
Incorporate user research and usability studies into the design of GSIQ features and functionalities;
Work with product owners, contractors, and external partners to ensure GSIQ features and functionalities are interoperable with other industry digital ecosystems;
Support Gold Standard experts and partners in market research, validation, and analysis to identify new opportunities.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Gold Standard Management Team and staff to identify the desired GSIQ capabilities and oversee product development and prioritization.
Product lead with overall responsibility to develop and maintain a full technical brief, digital product roadmap and requirements, budget, and timeline to implement and support GSIQ, as well as associated internal and external reporting.
Contract management of preferred technology vendor(s) to develop and build GSIQ.
Ensure that vendor’s discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing phases are implemented to industry standards.
Ensure agile development and manage the roadmap and backlog to ensure that vendor delivers all capabilities on time and per expectation.
Engage with Gold Standard digital ecosystem partners to identify GSIQ system interoperability requirements.
Identify new collaborators for the GS digital ecosystem, including technical vendors, strategic advisors, and thought leaders. Oversee procurement of additional experts and service providers as needed.
Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
5+ years experience in digital product management.
Experience managing outsourced design and development of technology products.
Experience writing high-level technical briefs and scopes of work for technology development contracts.
Familiarity with back-end and front-end programming languages, such as Java, HTML, CSS, Angular JS, or similar.
Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
Usability and customer-focused design experience are a plus.
Experience with carbon markets, carbon registries and/or reporting, assurance, or certification systems is very desirable.
